Technology
Lake Forest has entered the technology era. The following forms of technology are currently being utilized in classrooms:
Smartboards – per grade level
Airliners
Computers
LCD Projectors
Laptops (in the computer lab)
Overhead Projectors
Textbooks on CD Rom
Internet Research
Interactive Websites
Various forms of computer software & Calculators.
Thanks to the dollars that our PTO generated from their candy drive it allowed Lake Forest to purchase some of the above items.
The Instructional Leaders are hoping the parents of Lake Forest eagles will continue to soar with their fundraising.
Some items on the technology wish list are:
Laptop for every grade level
ELMO (this works like an overhead projector. Teachers will be able to display any image without using a transparency. For example, if a science class is experimenting with volumes of water. The beakers containing the water will be displayed on a screen. If the water moves – students will see the movement.
Smartboards for every classroom
Airliners for every classroom
Please assist our PTO in fundraising or securing donations for the school. This allows Lake Forest to generate more technology for our eagles.
Homework
Did you know that a part your eagle’s success during the school year will be determined by completion and mastery of home learning assignments? (Moore, 1999)
Here at Lake Forest learning is the objective and learning should be rewarded. Education does not only happen during school hours, home learning serves a purpose and should never be ignored.
Home learning gives parents insight into the school curriculum and offers a greater opportunity for student learning to occur.
Please remember HOME LEARNING IS NOT OPTIONAL, IT IS MANDATORY!
